Sexy by Summer (Day 11)
Day 11 February 25, (Weighing March 1st)
Ok so today when I woke up to get ready for work, I was so sick. My eyes were hurting, my right ear was hurting and my nose was hurting. All because of this stupid cold I have. I’ve never had this bad of a sinus cold before. I was way to miserable to go to work. So I stayed home and went back to bed after a hot glass of Theraflu. I felt much better at about 2:00pm today. My eyes, ear nor nose are hurting anymore thank goodness. I still have a little bit of a cold but it’s bearable now.
Anyways for breakfast I ate 1 egg and about 3 turkey bacon slices. It was pretty good. Then for a snack I started a cup of coffee and ate what my mom calls “protein pancakes”. They are her own invention. She is currently on a protein diet, except she doesn’t eat meat like me. She has lost 9 pounds so far. We’re kind of in this together. 
So I ate 2 protein pancakes. They’re made with ground up nuts and some other baking ingredients. No flour what so ever. Those “protein pancakes” totally quenched my bread cravings.
For lunch I ate hamburger patties covered with fried onions and salad of course. It’s really good but you have to fill the hamburger meat with spice (garlic salt, salt, pepper, onion soup powder or ranch dressing powder etc…).
Since I was feeling better I did go ahead and exercise. Even though this was the first day I decided not to exercise when I was supposed to. It’s scary I lost my resolve.
Before dinner I had a fake coffee. Because I didn’t want the caffeine to keep me awake at bed time. Then for dinner my husband made a roast beef with carrots, onions and salad. It was good!
Note to self: Drinking more water may help to eliminate food cravings. You’ll have to try it.

A Naughty Victorian Lady arrives in Japan a Virgin Bride: Part One

I have always thought of a virgin as being like a grand ovular vase painted with pretty blooms and fancy chinoiserie and trimmed with bright gold leaf around the rim to attract the gentleman buyer in a posh shop on Bond Street.
Looking it over from head to tail with an experienced eye, the gentleman speaks of his desire to acquire the vase for his collection of beauteous objects. But does she possess the high quality desired to grace his collection? he wonders, puffing on his cigar. Admiring her lovely shape and pretty accoutrements, he flicks his cigar ashes into the vase when no one is looking to hide his indiscretion.
He visits the shop daily and stares at the vase until the day arrives when he purchases the precious objet d’art. He takes her home with much fanfare then, in the privacy of his bedroom, he thrusts his long cigar into her depths.
The force of his action is not altogether violent (he attempts to be gentle), but nevertheless the vase cracks. She is no longer an item to be cherished but relegated to the less substantial pieces in his collection. Sitting on a shelf. Occasionally admired by the master of the house or a visiting colleague. But she never again retains the same stature in his eyes.
She is no longer a virgin.
Such is the way in the West, where virginity is a prized possession deemed to be part and parcel of a bride’s attraction for marriage (not to mention her sizeable dowry). In Japan, a more “civilized” deflowering ceremony is performed, where the new vase or virgin does not undergo the pain of penetration by an overzealous husband.
Rather, the ritual is performed by a complete stranger.
I cannot claim to authenticate this ritual except by hearsay, as some claim this deflowering ceremony is performed only upon courtesans, though others also include the maiko or apprentice geisha, where the mama-san chooses the gentleman. Not a young man who would be too rough. He must be an older gentleman with experience. I have also heard that the custom of ritual defloration is deemed a privilege that is bestowed upon the highest bidder.

38) Tea Party with Me
Nothing better than a tea party outside!
Yet another photo of my session from this past weekend. This is one of my favourites from the set. I love all the interest and different angles in the picture. But regardless of all the different lines, there is a solitary focal point: the tea set. I also like that you can see her feet and hand.
I feel that my work is good enough to be paid for and I’ve tried some small advertising, but nothing has gone through. I’m at a loss at what to do!

Here's To You Mrs. Robinson
I’m back from Chicago but sadly, whenever I saw a stylish gent I didn’t have my camera. But I did purchase some stylish basics that I will post later this week.
Now that Spring advertising campaigns are in full swing, one of my favorites is Tom Ford’s. I always like his simple display of sumptuous clothes but this time there is a twist. The campaign stars Nicholas Hoult and Carolyn Murphy and is reminiscent of the 1960s film The Graduate. Ms. Murphy is playing the older woman as she dotes on the young Hoult. The tan lines recall the character of Mrs. Robinson when she seduces the young Dustin Hoffman for the first time. The styling of the hair and makeup is also ’60s inspired and provides a “devil may care” attitude. The Graduate is a perfect inspiration for Ford who is known for his classic yet sexy designs.

How to Have Fun on a Snow Day
As you’re surely or not very aware, the mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. was bombarded with a snowstorm of record proportions this past weekend. Oftentimes after a bombardment of snow, the snow accumulation will make travel by vehicle nearly impossible (see my friend’s car in Washington D.C. below… or see where it should be):

If your car looks like above there’s a fairly good chance you’ll be off from work, especially if you’re a teacher or work for the government. I’d like to offer a few ideas to Napkinville Nation on how to ensure you have a fun snow day if you’re stuck at your house.
1) Get in your bikinis and go play with your dog. Your dog will think playing in the snow is the best thing since sliced Alpo, your neighbors will enjoy a free peep show and there’s a good possibility you get pneumonia – a win-win-win situation. Be sure to take lots of pictures like my neighbors:

2) But you can’t stay outside in your bikinis forever. Once inside, the most productive thing you can possibly do with your free time is give a friend a mohawk. That’s just what we did to my roommate, who actually it turns out can rock a badass hawk:

It's Finally Over, My Review Of Not Shopping For 30 Days
The first week of January I took on the challenge of no shopping for 30 days. Click here to see the post, as well as the rules. The 30 days ended this weekend and I hit the stores right away if that tells you anything about how well this went for me. I had only broken the rules once during the 30 days when I picked up some eyeliner one Friday night, I couldn’t help it I had run completely out and Nightrider and I were going out on the town for the first time in ages. Don’t Judge Me! Anyways I guess that means I failed but I still feel like I accomplished the task at hand.
Part of the reason I did this challenge was I wanted to see what I could save money wise. I balanced my checkbook and it looks like by not shopping for 30 days I saved $100. Might not seem like much but it was equivalent to a couple of items I would normally buy. I think the average person could have probably saved more but I really just ended up spending shopping money on dinners and lunches out and other activities. Kinda defeats the purpose right? Phsssh oh well.
Something good that did come out of this was that without all the time I would normally spend shopping I had the time to devote some more energy to my blog. I reached an all time high of posts per month as well as hits and I am proud of myself for that. The transfer of energy got me back on track like I needed to be and that I consider a WIN!
Something interesting I realized about not allowing myself to shop for 30 days was that it almost kind of felt the same as dieting for 30 days. I felt restricted in my life and like I was depriving myself. Interestingly enough much like when you diet as soon as the time period was done I hit the stores hard and spent far too much money. Sounds a lot like when you go hog-wild (no pun intended) after dieting and binge to your heart’s content doesn’t it? I also became extremely obsessed, even more so then usual, with the idea of shopping with clothes and with fashion. Since I was longing for it so bad & I couldn’t have it I spent a lot of time online window shopping, as well as reading fashion blogs…I love to torture myself. I didn’t love my current wardrobe as much as a normally do, just because I wanted something new, but I did put together some new outfits from pieces I hadn’t worn in a while.
Overall I think it was a learning experience but what I learned was I am far to rebellious for limitations and I feel better mentally when I give into my needs. This did however mature me and made me think a bit more about purchases. Yesterday I spent less at Torrid then I normally would and still came home with some great pieces. I also spent sometime thrifting, which I don’t do much of, and found some great stuff as well. Oh yeah and I ordered the dress I’ve been drooling over from ASOS and a new black bomber jacket. A girls got needs!!!!!
This week should be filled with OOTD posts and reviews of my new clothes so stay tuned!
Needless to say I won’t giving myself anymore no shopping challenges anytime soon, but more power to ya if you can!
